This speech gives so much life! Its pretty much all anyone who's conscious have been talking about all week. Why? Because he read and re-read everyone! Not only does he honorably pay homage to the victims of brutality and injustice. Not only does he call a community to action by standing up and "disrupt" the system and address cultural appropriation. He also calls out black community. The ones "getting money" its not enough! And he's right! So what you made it out of the hood. So what you own businesses and such. What are you doing for the people that still live there? How many scholarships have you raised, how many kids have you mentored and helped graduate high school? How many times have you given a motivational speech at a school? How many people outside of your circle have you inspired? Its not enough to make it out of the hood. That's great! A lot of us don't live in the hood. That's not going to change they way the system treats you! Its not going to stop any injustice! Its just an eye opener for all of us! Maybe we all should invest more in our neighborhoods and our. Children. Maybe if there were more of us interested in social change instead of Jordans things would be different? Maybe if we respected ourselves enough to settle disputes in a way that our neighborhoods can grow and our children can grow old, things would be different? Until that day, yeah, I'll shout #blacklivesmatter but who do they matter to?
